India?s Janani to start E. Kalimantan coal production

Indian export-import firm Janani Holdings through its Indonesian subsidiary PT Kutai Nyala Resources (KNR) will start first thermal coal production in Kutai Kartanegera regency, East Kalimantan in October this year.
KNR's chief director B.S. Sai Baba told Petromindo.com Wednesday that initial production will be around 50,000 per month and the output will increase to 150,000 per month a few months after.
The company is building a 300-meters conveyor belt stretching from stockpile to jetty on the side of Mahakam river. ?It takes 3 month to complete,? he said.
According to him, part of the coal will be consumed by the company?s power plant in South India and the remaining will be sold to any potential offtakers. ?The company is still open for any new potential offtakers,? he added.
?We?ve enough coal resources,? he said without giving further details.
The company has three IUP licensees in the area. (denny)
