India's NTPC in talks to acquire stake in overseas LNG project

India's state-run National Thermal Power Corp. is in talks with major oil and gas companies from Australia, Nigeria and Indonesia on acquiring stakes in their liquefied natural gas projects, reports the Financial Express newspaper.

The paper, quoting unnamed NTPC officials, said the power company has also held talks with Malaysia's Petronas for the same purpose.

NTPC is also looking at opportunities to acquire stakes in LNG projects in countries like Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar and Libya, said the paper. (*)
