India?s Patel Engineering to buy Indonesia, Australia coal mines: Report

Indian firm Patel Engineering is planning to acquire coal mines in Indonesia or Australia for its upcoming 1200 MW coal-fired power plant in Gujarat, Business Standard of India reported Thursday.
The mines may cost between US$2 million and $10 million and will have reserves to produce 4 million-tons (MT) of coal per annum.
The report did not give further details.
The Gujarat power plant is expected to start operation in the next 18 months, the report said. (*)
