India to buy US$10 billion LNG from RI

India plans to buy liquid natural gas worth US$10 billion from Indonesia, according to Ambassador of India to Indonesia M. Venkatraman.

Venkatraman was quoted by the Suara Pembaruan evening daily as saying that India would also buy around $1 billion worth of coal from Indonesia.

He said that Indonesia's coal has better quality that the ones in India.

He said that trade plans was part of overall efforts to boost trade and investment relations between the two country.

He also said that Indian businessmen would visit Indonesia this month including to see the prospect of investing in the country's oil and gas sector.(*)
