Indika Energy to develop infrastructure projects worth US$6b

IDX-listed energy group PT Indika Energy Tbk is set to sign an MoU with China Development Bank today for the development of infrastructure projects worth US$6 billion in Central Kalimantan and Papua, Kontan daily reported Thursday.

The paper quoted Minister of Industry MS Hidayat as saying that the signing ceremony will be witnessed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his visiting Chinese counterpart President Xi Jinping. It would be the biggest deal of the various investment and business deals to be signed by Indonesia and China today.

He did not disclose what type of infrastructure facilities to be developed by Indika, which has a coal mining concession in Central Kalimantan, and an oil and gas exploration project at the Bird?s Head block in Papua in partnership with Total EP Indonesie. (*)
