Indoferro seeks coking coal supplier

Private iron and steel mill company PT Indoferro is expected to start commissioning its pig iron mill in Cilegon, Banten province in the first quarter of next year, the company?s official said.

VP Louis Suhendra told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday that the mill is currently under construction with annual production capacity of 500,000 tonnes of pig iron product.

?We just produce a pig iron product,? he said.

The company is now in talks with several coking coal producers in Indonesia to supply coking coal to its mill, including Indonesia-listed miner PT Borneo Lumbung Energi & Metal, PT Marunda Graha Mineral, PT Kartika Selabumi Mining, he said.

He did not give details wether the company will conclude the negotiation of coking coal supply.

?With annual production of 500,000 tonnes pig iron, we just consumes around 200,000-250,000 tonnes of coking coal per year,? he added. (denny)
