Indomining seeks to boost coal output

PT Indomining, a subsidiary of IDX-listed coal firm PT Toba Bara Sejahtra Tbk, is seeking to boost coal production in East Kalimantan to around 2 million tons in 2018.

The company this year is expected to only produce around 700,000 tons, which is about the same for next year.

This was said on Thursday by Arthur Simatupang, President Director of Indomining, on the sidelines of the Kalimantan Mining Conference, in Balikpapan.

He said that the higher production target for 2018 comes amid the current development of new coal-fired power plants in the country. Indomining?s peak output in the past was 1.5 million tons.

Capital expenditure allocated for Indomining this year is around US$1 million for maintenance and operation.
