The fourth Indonesia-Japan Energy Roundtable was opened in Jakarta Monday to allow officials from the two countries to discuss possibilities of mutual cooperation in the energy sector.

“In this forum, Indonesia will explain to the Japanese about our energy policies and investment opportunities in our upstream oil and gas sector,” oil and gas director general Iin Arifin Takhyan told reporters before the forum was officially opened.

Meanwhile, Japanese officials will give explanations about their energy policies and other matters like oil and gas related technologies, Iin said.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro heads the Indonesian delegation in the one-day forum, while Hiroyuki Ishige, Japan’s natural resources and energy policy director general at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry heads the Japanese delegation.
