Indonesia Bulk Terminal reports an increase in coal-handling volume

PT Indonesia Bulk Terminal (IBT), the operator of coal handling terminal in Pulau Laut, South Kalimantan, handled 15.5 million tons of coal during the financial year ending July 31, 2001, which was an increase of 11 percent over the previous year, according to Washington H. Soul Pattinson Company Limited, an Australian listed investment firm which indirectly owns IBT stakes.
?The operations of IBT continue efficiently with increased revenues and profits,? said the company in its annual report to Australian Stock Exchange Thursday.
The company also said IBT?s debt currently stood at US$ 75 million down from US$ 1000 million in 1999.
IBT is used mainly by PT Adaro Indonesia, Indonesia?s largest coal producer which is also an affiliate company of IBT, to ship its coal. (alex)
