Coal miner company PT Indonesia Coal Resources, a wholly subsidiary of Aneka Tambang Tbk targets to produce 500.000 tons of low rank coal in the first semester of 2012 from its coal mine in Sarolangun, Jambi.
President Director of Indonesia Coal Resources Bachtiar Magalatung said that the amount is based on the initial production's target for this year of about 1 million tons.
Bachtiar said that the company produced about 113.000 tons of coal in March. "We expect to produce about 150.000 tons in April," he told Petromindo.com on Monday.
Bachtiar revealed that along January and February the company did not produce coal due to the banning by local authority of the use of public road for hauling coal. "During that period we only sold about 200.000 tons of coal from our stockpile," he said.
Indonesia Coal Resources exports its coal production mainly to China and India.
