Indonesia fails to meet CBM production target

The coal bed methane (CBM) production target for this year, which reaches 500 mmscfd, will not be achieved as the national output currently stands at only 250 mmscfd, said an official at Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR).

"The CBM production target of 500 mmscfd will not be achieved, because until now only half of target has been achieved," said Ign. Wiratmaja Puja, Expert Staff of the Minister for Institutional Relations & Strategic Planning, said in a workshop in Jakarta on Thursday.

He did not provide details about the CBM companies that have come into production.
