Indonesia, JCOAL to sign MOU on coal projects this week

Indonesia and Japan Energy Coal Center (JCOAL) will on Thursday sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to cooperate in coal technology projects in Indonesia, geology and mineral resources director general Wimpy S. Tjetjep told Petromindo.Com Tuesday.
Wimpy said the cooperation agreement would cover coal preparation and transportation, and the use of spontaneous combustion technology for minimizing fire at coalmines.
The MOU will be signed by Wimpy; the president director of state coalminer PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam, Ismet Harmaini; and JCOAL president director Katsuyoshi ANDO.
Indonesia is one of the largest coal suppliers to Japan. (godang)
