Indonesia monitoring Tsunami impact on LNG shipments

Indonesia is evaluating the impact of Tsunami that hit the north east of Japan on LNG shipments, and is anticipating possibility of shipment delay or rescheduling, an official with upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said on Saturday.

?BPMIGAS is monitoring the state of LNG receiving terminals in the area hit by the earthquake,? Spokesperson Gde Pradnyana told Petromindo.com. He said that LNG receiving terminal of Tohoku Electric, which buys LNG from BP-operated Tangguh, is located in Sendai, one of the area most badly hit by the Tsunami that reportedly killed more than 1,000 people.

Meanwhile, state oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) said that the high waves caused by the Tsunami had caused delay in LNG offloading in Osaka and Nagoya. Corporate Secretary Hari Karulyarto told Petromindo.Com that offloading of one cargo in Osaka and another one in Nagoya were delayed, but thus far did not require diversion to other places.

?This afternoon, we will discuss about LNG shipment schedule to Japan,? he said.
