Indonesia mulls crude processing deal on Iraqi war

Indonesia has considered crude processing deal with overseas refineries in order to maintain enough fuel supply for the domestic market in the event war breaks out in Iraq, oil and gas director general Iin Arifin Takhyan told Petromindo.Com Monday.

Iin Arifin did not mention the countries where oil refineries were located.

He said that a portion of crude oil to be processed under the anticipated processing deal might come from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries, and from Indonesia?s production sharing contractors (PSCs).

Iin Arifin declined to mention the volumes of crude for the processing deals.

He said that Saudi Arabia could increase its oil production to nine million barrels per day (BPD). Its OPEC oil quota is currently 7.47 million BPD. (godang)
