The Indonesian government has offered 15 new oil and gas blocks, mostly deep water explorations, to a number of Russian oil and gas investors.
Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Susilo Siswoutomo said in Jakarta on Wednesday that the offering was made during an oil and gas exhibition in Moscow recently.
?The international event, Moscow International Oil & Gas Exhibition (MIOGE) 2013, was held in Moscow recently. Indonesia was one of the participants in the event,? he explained.
He said that the offer was part of the efforts to attract more foreign investors, including those from Russia, to do explorations and production onshore and offshore of Indonesia.
According to him, the 15 new oil and gas blocks on offer are included in the phase I tender of the production sharing contract (PSC) in 2013. ?The terms and conditions are quite attractive for investors," he said.
The 15 blocks are located in various regions, including South Sumatra, the Java Sea, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Southeast Maluku waters, Aru Sea, and the Bird's Head region of Papua.
