PT Indonesia Power (IP), a unit of state electricity firm that runs Suralaya 3,400MW power plant in Banten said it was in talks with South Kalimantan coal miner PT Adaro Indonesia to supply coal for 2010.
President Director Tonny Agus Mulyantono said that IP needed 13 million tonnes of coal for next year and has secured 10 million tonnes from suppliers. ?We?re negotiating with Adaro to fill up the gap,? he said.
He added that currently IP maintained 2.2 million tonnes of stock at Suralaya, or equal to 55 days of consumption to anticipate bad weather condition. (kanti)
