Indonesia Power and Berau Coal clinch deal on coal supply

East Kalimantan based coal-mining firm PT Berau Coal has agreed on long-term coal supply with power generating firm PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state electricity firm Indonesia Power.
According to Berau Coal president Jeffrey Mulyono, Berau Coal has agreed to supply 3.5 million tons in four year starting 2002.
?Berau will supply 500,000 tons in 2002 and 1 million tons per year for the next three years,? said Jeffrey in an interview Monday.
He said the price was agreed at a little above US$ 19 per ton f.o.b.
Indonesia Power is the largest local coal absorber, consuming about 10 million tons annually.(alex/godang)
