Indonesia Power opens gas supply tender for Jakarta power plant

Monday, February 11 2008 - 02:58 AM WIB

Indonesia Power on Monday announced the opening of the tender to supply natural gas to its Tanjung Priok 1,180-MW combined cycle power plant in North Jakarta.

Indonesia Power President Tonny Agus Mulyantono told Petromindo.Com that thus far there are two companies including state gas distribution firm PGN that have expressed interest to participate in the tender. He said Indonesia Power is looking for long-term supply contract.

Tonny did not say the volume of gas the company required, but said that additional gas supply was needed to anticipate falling supply from BP Offshore North West Java (ONWJ) gas fields offshore West Java.

Tonny hoped that the winner(s) could be announced in March this year. Indonesia Power is a wholly-owned subsidiary of state electricity firm PLN. (godang/denny)
