Indonesia Power opens PQ for Suralaya spot coal suppliers

The company said to be eligible to participate, potential suppliers must have minimum production capacity of 30,000 tones per month and has access to minable coal reserves of at least 1.8 million tones from legal mines; having been in production for at least one year and use barges with minimum capacity of 5,000 tones for transportation.
The company is seekeing coal with gross calorific value above 4,700 Kcal/kg, total moisture below 30 percent, ash content less than 8 percent and sulphur content below 0.8 percent.
The company said all spot coal tenders would be conducted through e-bidding.
Suralaya requires some 10 million tones of coal annually, 60 percent of which is suppllied by South Sumatran miner PTBA and the rest from Kalimantan coal miners. (alex)
