Indonesia Power opens tender for Suralaya's coal needs

PT. Indonesia Power (IP), a unit of state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), announced on Wednesday a pre-qualification tender to search for long-term suppliers for its Suralaya 3,400-MW power plant in Banten.

The company invites miners who hold KP licenses.

Coal delivery will start in 2008, the company said without revealing the volume.

The coal should have a calorific value of between 5,000-5,200 Kcal/kg (AR) or 6.000-6.300 Kcal/kg (ADB).

PQ documents could be obtained at the company?s HQ in Jakarta from April 03 - 11, 2008.

IP's Operation Director Bambang Susianto told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday that the current tender replaced the previous tender which had been annulled due to the lack of participants. (godang/denny)
