PT Indonesia Power, the owner and operator of the 3,400-megawatt Suralaya coal-fired power plant, on Thursday selected its coal suppliers through electronic-auction (e-auction).

The suppliers will supply a total of 200,000 tons of coal for the July shipment to the power plant.

The winners are PT Sigma Cemerlang with a contract volume of 60,000 tons of coal (calorific value (CV)=4,800 Kcal/kg), PT. Duta Tujuh Bersaudara with volume of 80,000 tons (CV=4,800 Kcal/kg), PT Indramaju Kusuma with volume of 30.000 tons (CV=5,000 Kcal/kg), PT Octasan Barona with volume of 60,000 tons (CV=5,000 Kcal/kg).

Indonesia Power intends to use e-auction regularly to purchase coal from spot market to balance minimum stock level of about 500,000 tons required for the power plant each month. (maya)
