PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, said that it has contracted its entire coal supply need for this year. Therefore it has no intention to enter the spot market.

President Director of Indonesia Power, Djoko Hastowo told Petromindo.com Thursday that the company has signed a total of 12 million tons per annum of coal supply deals including 5 million tons per year with state-owned PT Bukit Asam.

?There?s no need for the spot market anymore, God Willing the requirement for 2013 is secured,? he said.

Monthly coal stock held by the company is about 700,000-800,000 tons, sufficient for 20-30 days operation of the company?s eight coal-fired power plants with combined capacity of 8,996 MW.

Djoko said that the company is still making calculation for its 2014 coal requirement.
