Indonesia Power temporarily stops coal tender for Sularaya

Monday, November 9 2009 - 04:44 AM WIB

PT Indonesia Power, a unit of state electricity firm PLN that runs Suralaya 3,400-MW coal-fired power plant, said that it would not hold new coal supply tender for Suralaya as coal stock at the Banten power station has been sufficient.

Suralaya GM Sudirmanto said on Monday that the company would not hold another tender until the first half of next year.

Suralaya would need 11.5 million tonnes of coal in 2010, he said, adding that state coal mining firm PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) will supply 6 million tonnes. ?Price negotiation with PTBA is ongoing,? he said. (godang)
