Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan said that the country's exports of unprocessed mining products started to increase in recent months though the volume was still below the figure before export restriction was implemented.

"Recently, (the quota of the exports of mineral ores) has started to increase," he told Petromindo.com at the State Palace.

"But I think (the total export volume) remains below (the export figure before the restriction was implemented)." said Wirjawan.

On May 6, the government subjected a 20 percent of export duty to 65 raw mining products ahead of the plan to totally ban the sending of mineral ores to overseas.

Companies eligible to export are required to secure export license and total quota from the ministry.
