Indonesia?s January-May coal output at 100.6 mln T

Indonesia, the world?s largest thermal coal exporter, produced 100.6 million tonnes of coal in January to May period this year with about 87 percent or 87.84 million tonnes were exported, said Thamrin Sihite, Director General of Mineral Resources and Coal at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry.

The figure only from producers that hold coal contract of works (CCoW) and did not include production from coal miners that hold mining permit or Ijin Usaha Pertambang (IUP) which is another type of mining permits.

?The remaning 12.7 million tonnes are supplied for domestic market,? said Sihite, adding current supply was sufficient for domestic users. (godang)
