Indonesian upstream oil and gas authority BP Migas said on Wednesday it had secured one cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Oman LNG to make up supply shortage from Arun LNG plant in Aceh to South Korea’s Kogas.
“The cargo left for South Korea on January 13,” BP Migas senior official in charge of LNG marketing Djoko Harsono told Petromindo.Com.
Indonesia had been scrambling to seek overseas LNG cargoes to meet its commitments to East Asian buyers as Arun LNG and Bontang LNG in East Kalimantan had experienced gas supply shortage.
Earlier in December, Indonesia had also bought two cargoes of LNG from Nigeria and Qatar.(godang)
