Indonesia to miss 2009 crude production target: BPMIGAS

Tuesday, November 3 2009 - 02:35 AM WIB

Indonesia is unlikely to meet its 2009 crude production target of 960,000 BPD despite plans to release 4 million barrels of stock to the market, upstream oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS said.

BPMIGAS's Chairman R. Priyono said on Monday that January-October production stood at only 948,677 BPD, adding that until the end of this year crude lifting may reach a maximum 955,000 BPD

He attributed the failure to a number of factors, including problems at the Tangguh LNG plant in Papua, generator theft and maintenance program at ONWJ block in offshore West Java and FSO problem at Kangean PSC, offshore East Java. (*)
