Indonesia to produce 198MT of coal in 2007

Minister of energy and mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro said on Wednesday that Indonesia will likely produce 198 million tonnes of coal this year.
Purnomo told Parliamentary hearing that the figure would increase to 240 million tonnes in 2010, with 90 million tonnes of which will go to domestic market, mainly to fuel existing and newly-operated coal-fired power plants.
Indonesia is projected to produce 380 million tonnes of coal in 2025, Purnomo said. (bernard)
