Indonesia to produce 960,000-975,000 bpd of oil in 2011: BPMIGAS

BPMIGAS said in statement at parliamentary hearing with House of Representative (DPR) commission VII, which oversees among others mining and energy affairs, that the existing oil fields were expected to produce around 940,000-950,000 bpd.
Additional output of around 19,800-25,100 bpd will come from new oil fields and infill wells, BPMIGAS said.
To achieve the target, oil contractors will be told to carry out infill drilling, workover, enhanced oil recovery (EOR) programs, which are expected to lower the natural decline rate of their mature oil fields to 3 percent from an average 12-20 percent per year at present.
More than 90 percent of oil fields in Indonesia are mature, BPMIGAS added. (godang)
