Indonesia to swap one LNG cargo from Bontang to Arun

Indonesian upstream oil and gas BP Migas said it would swap one cargo of LNG from Bontang to Arun for November shipment to Korea to make way to increase natural gas supply to East Kalimantan based fertilizer maker PT. Pupuk Kaltim.

?By swapping one cargo of LNG from Bontang to Arun, gas supply to Pupuk Kaltim could be increased 40 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) to 220 MMCF,? said BP Migas chairman Rachmat Soedibjo.

Rachmat said Kogas had been notified about the change.

Pupuk Kaltim, one of the country?s major fertilizer producers, shut down one of its five urea fertilizer plants in September after TotalFinaElf E&P Indonesia reduced gas supply to the fertilizer maker.

Gas supply to Pupuk Kaltim had dropped about two months ago with government and Pertamina officials arguing that it had been due to damages at TotalFinaElf's gas well.(godang)
