Indonesia, Vietnam to jointly develop oil, gas offshore project

The governments of Indonesia and Vietnam have agreed to step up cooperation in the energy sector including to conduct joint offshore oil and gas exploration in Vietnam, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Thursday.

The two nations have actually begun cooperation in developing Block 10/11, offshore Vietnam.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa said that it has been agreed that Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam will conduct cooperation in offshore oil and gas project in Vietnam.

Hatta was speaking to reporters following a meeting between visiting Vietnam Prime Minister and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. (*)
