Indonesian experts discuss deep-water oil, gas mining

Indonesia?s oil and gas mining experts are discussing methods of boosting deep-water oil and gas production in the country in their two-day conference in Bandung.

Experts from French energy giant Total and U.S. energy firm Unocal share their experience with Indonesian participants in the meeting, which is being organized by the Association of Indonesian Oil and Gas Technology Experts (IATPI).

?Indonesia has to take breakthrough measures to boost oil and gas production from deep-water fields,? association chairman Kardaya Warnika told Petromindo.Com on the sidelines of the meeting which was opened Friday. Kardaya is also vice chairman of Upstream Oil and Gas Authority.

IATPI, formed 20 years ago, has around 2,000 members. (godang)
