Indonesian, French officials hold talks on energy polices

Indonesian and French government officials on Wednesday held talks about Indonesia?s energy policies and projects in a two-day meeting scheduled to be concluded on Thursday.

French director general of energy and mineral resources, Christophe Baulinet, headed the 10-member French delegation. Meanwhile, 30 Indonesian government officials are participating in the meeting under the coordination of Surna T. Djajadiningrat who heads the education and training section of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Surna said in the meeting?s opening ceremony that participants in the conference would identify the progress and the status of energy and mining projects jointly developed by Indonesia and France.

Surna added that Indonesia is now taking substantial measures to increase the professionalism and quality of workers in the energy and mining sector. France could help in this matter, he said.

The so-called Technical Working Group Meeting on Energy had also been held over the past years. (Leo)
