State oil and gas company Pertamina revised its forecast for domestic oil products consumption upwards on Tuesday to 65-66 million kilolitres (409-415 million barrels) in 2004 from 63.25 million kilolitres compared with 60.92 million in 2003.
The state oil company kept its earlier prediction of 65.46 million kilolitres for 2005.
"Oil products consumption in 2004 is estimated to rise to between 65 to 66 million kilolitres, boosted by higher consumption growth," Pertamina's downstream director Muchsin Bahar told reporters.
Muchsin said current national oil product stocks stood at around 24 days.(*)
