Indonesian tin exports drop in September

Tin exports from Indonesia dropped to 9,650 tons in September 2007 from 11,500 tons in August.
Data at the Trade Ministry say exports from February 23 to September 31 totaled 61,166 tons, valued at US$846.95 million.
The exports were made by eight licensed tin exporters with two of them PT Tinindo Inter Nusa and PT Mitra Stania Prima just starting exports in September.
The companies that exported during the period are state owned PT Timah with exprts totalling 35,767 tons, CV DS Jaya Abadi (7,046 tons), CV Donna Kebara Jaya (6,537 tons), PT Bangka Putra Karya (6,394 tons), PT Koba Tin (4,483 tons), PT Tinindo Inter Nusa (550 tons), PT Billitin Makmur Lestari (310 tons) dan PT Mitra Stania Prima (76 tons).
Six other firms that have got licenses from the central government to export the metal have yet to start exporting activities (*)
