Indralaya-Prabumulih toll road to start operating this year

The construction of the Indralaya-Prabumulih toll road in South Sumatera is progressing well and on track to begin operating this year, state-construction firm PT Hutama Karya Tbk, the developer of the toll road, said.

EVP Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said so far the construction progress of the toll road has reached 79 percent, while land acquisition progress has reached 92 percent, Bisnis.com reported.

The 65-km Indralaya-Prabumulih toll road is part of the Trans Sumatera Toll Road (TSTR).

Tjahjo said some part of the toll road is located in a swamp area, therefore it requires a specific technic to develop the toll road, namely through vacuum consolidation method (VCM) technology.

He said if the construction goes as planned, the toll road could start operating this year.

In addition to Indralaya-Prabumulih, the other toll road sections of TSTR that are projected to be completed this year are Sigli-Banda Aceh Section 1, Section 5 and Section 6; Binjai-Langsa and Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road section.
