ASX-listed Indus Coal appointed Campbell Baird as an Executive Director.
The company said on Wednesday that Baird's appointment would further strengthen the Board of Indus as the company focuses its efforts on the development of Jambi Coal Projects and in particular Block 9, located in the Central Tebo District, Tebo Regency, Jambi Province of Eastern Sumatra.
Baird is a mining engineer with over 20 years of experience in mining operations, mine management, feasibility studies and mine design across a broad range of commodities both within Australia and internationally. He has held senior management roles at SRK Consulting, ASX listed Vulcan Resources Ltd and recently for the past 3 years as Chief Executive Officer of Focus Minerals Ltd an ASX listed Australian gold producer.
Executive Director of Indus, Vinay Hariani said that Campbell is now in charge of driving the Feasibility Study for Block 9 in conjunction with GMS Mining Consultants.
"I think he has an ability to deftly combine Australian mining procedures and disciplines with the traditional Indonesian style and process of thermal coal mining,"Hariani said.
"This ability along with his experience as a successful mining CEO will add great value to Indus as we begin to advance our technical and development work for the opening of a thermal coal mine on Block 9 which will target production of 2MT of thermal coal per annum."
