INPEX completes drilling of Berkat-1 well

INPEX Masela Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan?s oil and gas firm INPEX Corporation, has completed the drilling of Berkat-1 exploration well in the Masela block, Arafura Sea, which was spudded on May 19 using the Discover Seven Seas rig.

?Drilling of Berkat-1 well was completed last week,? Vice President Corporate Services at INPEX Nico Muhyiddin told Petromindo.com on Thursday, without providing details about the result of the drilling.

Inpex is the operator of the Masela block in Arafura Sea, Maluku, with a 65 percent interest. The firm, together with its partner Royal Dutch Shell plc, is developing an LNG project in the block?s Abadi field where the firm had discovered a huge gas reserve
