Inpex expects Bawal gas field to commence production in 2012

Inpex holds 35 percent interest in the South Natuna Sea Block B.
ConocoPhillips Indonesia Inc. Ltd holds 40 percent interest in the block and also acts as operator of the block. Chevron South Natuna B Inc. holds the remaining 25 percent.
Inpex also said that the South Belut gas field within the South Natuna Sea Block B is expected to commence production in 2013.
The block currently produces approximately 53,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and approximately 340 MMSCFD of gas.
The production sharing contract (PSC) will last until 2028.
The gas from the block is supplied to SembCorp (Singapore) since 2001 under a 22-years gas sales contract.
ConocoPhillips also has been supplying gas to Petronas?s Duyong gas platform in Malaysia with volume of around 250 MMCFD since 2002 under a 20 years contract.
The fields that have been producing oil and gas within the South Natuna Sea Block B are Belanak oil and gas field, which commenced crude oil and condensate production in December 2004 and LPG production in April 2007; Kersi oil and gas field which commenced production in December 2007; and North Belut gas field in November 2009.
The operator has suspended LPG production at Belanak since October 2010 due to reparation of the LPG FSO. (romel/roffie)
