INPEX Corporation announced it has decided in June to move the Ruby Gas Field development in the Sebuku block, south Makassar Strait, to the development stage and plans to commence production in 2013.
?The development work of the Ruby Gas Field is currently underway with a view to commencing production in the third quarter of 2013,? it said in a presentation.
Inpex, through subsidiary INPEX South Makassar Ltd, and French energy firm Total each hold 15 percent stakes in the Sebuku project, with the remaining 70 percent held by operator Pearl Oil (Sebuku) Ltd, a unit of Abu Dhabi-owned investment fund Mubadala Development Co.
The block covers an area of 2,345 square km in depths ranging from 50 meters to 200 meters. The government approved the Ruby development in July 2008.
