Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas (SKK MIGAS) has received the approval from Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik on the proposal of Front-End Enginering and Design (FEED) for the floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) proposed by Inpex for Masela Block, Timor Sea, at the end of 2012.

?Inpex FEED has been approved by the energy and mineral resources ministry before the end of last year. Currently, SKK MIGAS is waiting for Inpex to certify the gas reserve in Abadi field of Masela Block. We are also waiting for the finalization of FEED which is made concurrently with the EPC," SKK MIGAS' Planning Deputy Widiyawan Prawiraatmadja told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Monday.

Widiyawan said that Inpex had asked for time extension for certifying the reserve in the field. "Inpex has asked for a time extension to certify the field reserve so that it can propose a long term contract. But the FLNG is ensured at 2x2,5 MTPA," said Widiyawan.
