PT Insani Bara Perkasa, subsidiary of IDX-listed coal mining firm PT Resources Alam Indonesia Tbk, is targeting to double its coal output this year.

Insani?s Director Wimpi Salim told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the company plans to produce around 4.5 million tons of coal from its concession in East Kalimantan Province.

?Last year we just produced around 2.3 million tons,? he said, adding that the lower production in the previous year was mainly due to the downturn in the coal market. ?This year the markets seems to be recovering,? he said.

He said that the coal produced by Insani are mostly exported to India, China, Korea and several ASEAN countries. Insani produces coal with CV of 4,500-5,000 kcal/kg.
