Land preparation for the installation of onshore receiving facility (ORF) and its pipeline at the Jangkrik project in Muara Bakau block, East Kalimantan operated by Italian firm Eni SpA, has begun, according to an official of upstream authority SKK Migas.

?Land preparation for the installation of ORF and pipes at the Jangkrik project has been ongoing since May 2015,? Head of the Muara Bakau Project Acceleration Unit at SKK Migas, Eko Hariadi told Petromindo.com.

Eko also said the progress of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) works at the project has reached 26 percent. The Jangkrik project consists of three main works, namely EPCI-1, EPCI-2, and Engineering Procurement-3.

?The project is still on track to produce first gas in February 2017,? he added.

The Jangkrik gas project covers two fields, namely Jangkrik and Jangkrik North East (JNE) fields. The first field is projected to produce an estimated 300 mmscfd, while the second 150 mmscfd.

Muara Bakau PSC was initially 55 percent owned and operated by Eni and 45 percent by GDF Suez. In April of this year, GDF Suez sold 11.7 percent of its interest to PT Saka Energi Indonesia, a subsidiary of state owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN).
