Int'l Annax Ventures Inc progress at Sopokomil-North Sumatera
Friday, June 23 2000 - 07:30 AM WIB
Vancouver based company International Annax Ventures reported on Thursday it has completed three successful drill holes of the planned seven-hole program at the southeastern end of the Sopokomil prospect at the Dairi project in north Sumatra. All holes have intersected massive sulphides indicating an apparent continuity of the main mineralized horizon in this area.
The preliminary assay results for the first hole SOP 22D are reported below. This hole intersects the mineralized zone approximately 100 meters down dip of previously announced hole SOP 18D (17 meters grading 18 per cent Zn and 12 per cent Pb).
Interval Intersection
Hole SOP 22D
161-163.7m 2.7m @ 29.0% Zn, 22.2% Pb,
21.4 g/t Ag
174.2-193.3m 19.1 @ 16.0% Zn, 7.54% Pb,
4.8 g/t Ag
Continuing encouragement is provided with drill hole SOP 22D intersecting the greatest total thickness of massive sulphide yet encountered at the project. Assays are awaited for the other two holes completed to date, SOP 23D and SOP 24D. These holes are located on grid line 9800N, 100 metres north of holes SOP 18D and SOP 21D, and intersected 17.5 metres 7.7 metres of massive sulphides in the main mineralized horizon.
Other details are as follows:
Depth Interval Width
Hole (m) (m) (m)
SOP 22D 233 161 - 163.7 2.7
174.2 - 193.3 19.1
SOP 23D 159.4 104 - 107.7 3.7
107.7 - 121.5 13.8
SOP 24D In 48.9 - 51.8 2.9
progress 62.0 - 62.6 0.6
64.6 - 72.3 7.7
Current drilling shows a tendency for the main zone to thicken down dip. A drill plan and attendant cross sections will be published when additional drill results are released. The main mineralized horizon so far encountered is showing good continuity. It is intended next to drill the updip position from hole SOP 18D at 9800N, 5000E. The rig will then move to 10,000N, 5200E to drill two holes down dip from SOP 1D. (*)
