IDX-listed heavy equipment dealer company PT Intraco Penta through its subsidiary PT Inta Resources is currently developing a coal concession in Kalimantan.
Director of Commerce and Business Development Dasril told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that currently Inta Resources has two concessions, one in Kutai Kartanegara (Kukar) , East Kalimantan with a concession of about 5,000 hectares and another one in Balangan, South Kalimantan with a concession of about 1,200 hectares.
Dasril revealed that the concession in Balangan is still at the exploration stage, while the coal concession in Kukar has got the operation production permit.
"But we have halted activities in Kukar for the time being since the coal price is not good. Once the coal market has been back to normal, we will probably start production there," he said.
Dasril added that the concession in Kukar has at least 10 million ton of low rank coal reserves.
He added that while waiting for the coal market to recover, the company is looking for another coal concession for acquisition or a concession owner for joint operation. "We have access to equipment, financing and mining contractors. Thus, we are ready for concession takeover or joint operation. With regards the location, it is not a problem for us whether the concession is located either in Sumatra or Kalimantan," he said.
