Integra Mining to operate nickel smelter next month

Mineral mining company PT Integra Mining Nusantara (PT IMN) plans to start operation of a nickel smelter in South Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi, in March of this year.

Shelby Ihsan, Chairman of PT IMN told Petromindo.com that the smelter will produce nickel pig iron (NPI) with a capacity of 1,000-1,500 tons per month, with Ni content of at least 6 percent.

"We expect to have the commissioning by next month," he said on Wednesday, adding that the company has already spent about Rp 75 billion investment for the development of the smelter.
