The hull and topsides of floating production unit for Jangkrik and Jangkrik North East Gas Field Development in Muara Bakau block, East Kalimantan, operated by Italian firm Eni SpA., will be integrated at the end of this year.
This was said by Head of the Muara Bakau Project Acceleration Unit at upstream authority SKK Migas, Eko Hariadi to Petromindo.com.
A consortium led by PT Saipem Indonesia was appointed by Eni as contractor for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of a new barge FPU for the Jangkrik and Jangkrik North East Gas Field Development.
The new-build spread-moored FPU will have the capacity to treat 450mmscfd of gas plus condensates (LPG) and the scope of work includes engineering, procurement, fabrication of the FPU (hull and topsides) and the installation of a mooring system as well as hook-up, commissioning and assistance to the start-up. Gas produced by the FPU will be delivered through the existing East Kalimantan Pipeline facilities to Bontang LNG plants, which were constructed by Chiyoda.
The topsides fabrication activities are being carried out at Saipem?s Karimun Yard, in Indonesia, while the hull is being fabricated at Hyundai?s shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea.
Eni is the operator of the Muara Bakau block with 55 percent of working interest, whereas the other JV partners are GDF Suez Exploration Indonesia, a subsidiary of ENGIE, formerly GDF SUEZ, with 33.334 percent stake and Saka Energi Muara Bakau with 11.666 percent stake.
