Interex eyeing production of 2MTPA

Coal miner PT.Interex Sacra Raya is looking to produce 600,000 tonnes of coal from its East Kalimantan mines this year with output expected to peak at 2 million tonnes per annum starting 2009, a company official said on Monday.
The company?s president Jeffrey Mulyono told Petromindo.Com that the mine, which produces semi-soft coking coal and high CV thermal coal, exports all its production with trading companies Glencore International AG and Toyota Tsusho Corp as offtakers.
Jeffrey said that production from the mine, which started production last year, would be ramped up to 1 million tonnes next year.
The mine, which is located in Pasir regency, has mineable reserves of 50 million tonnes, said Jeffrey. The coal produced from the mine is hauled through 80-km road to Kuaro River, where the coal is barged to transshipment location. (alex)
