Internal conflict hampers Pase block decision: BPMIGAS

Until Aceh provincial administration and regional lawmakers resolve their internal conflict and come up with a decision on the Pase PSC, upstream authority BPMIGAS will continue to allow previous operator Triangle Pase Inc to manage the block.
?We have sent a letter telling them that as long as the internal conflict exists, we?ll extend the rights to manage the block to previous operator until a decision is made,? Deputy of Operation Control Gde Pradnyana told petromindo.com.
BPMIGAS has informed the Australia-listed oil and gas firm Triangle Energy (Global) Limited in February that the contract, through its unit Triangle Pase Inc (TPI), in the Pase block had ended but it had allowed the company to operate the block in Aceh for a further 6 months pending a decision on the PSC status.
The problem is, according to Gde, the regional administration and regional lawmakers have proposed two different companies, both are owned by regional government, to manage the block. ?That needs to be resolved first, meaning that they need to agree on one company only, thereby preventing potential problems in the future.?
The Pase PSC covers an area of 922 km2 in Aceh.
