Interra reports drop in S. Sumatra oil production

Singapore Exchange-listed oil firm Interra Resources Limited reported on Wednesday that gross oil production from its Tanjung Miring oilfield onshore South Sumatra during the third quarter of 2008 was 62,064 barrels, a decrease of 13.5% compared to the previous quarter.
?Mechanical difficulties in the lifting equipment continued to be experienced although the production performance in September improved considerably compared to the preceding month,? the company said.
During the quarter, preparations for a 3 well development program were almost completed with the first well due to spud around late October 2008, it said.
The company also reported topln to undertake 3D seismic in the field early next year.
Interra owns a 70% interest in the Tanjung Miring Timur Technical Assistance Contract (TAC). The owner of the remaining 30% and operator of the field is PT Retco Prima Energi. (alex)
